This collection consists of student materials such as lecture notes, lecture tickets, and annual announcements. All of this material was culled from the Scheffey Papers, Manuscript 45.
The bulk of the collection consists of materials related to Ellis' work in Siam from the 1920s to the 1930s. There are also a few items related to Jefferson Medical College such as Ellis' class president graduation speech, reunion pamphlets, and 1910 recommendation letter from J.W. Holland.
The bulk of this collection consists of student notes from Stewart's time at Jefferson Medical College and the University of Pennsylvania. There are also notes from his time working in the University of Pennsylvania Lab of Hygiene. The notes and notebooks are organized chronologically when possible, otherwise alphabetically by subject. There are also patient records from Stewart's time at Blockley Hospital, publications by other authors, laboratory correspondence, and several ephemera.
One-sheet fragment of letter to Jonathan R. Flynt of Monson, Mass., with typed transcription. The letter describes events in Philadelphia relating to the U.S. presidential election between candidates Andrew Jackson and John Adams. Sheldon then describes his affairs as a student at Jefferson Medical College, mentioning the introductory lectures and a "new elegant edifice" erected by the trustees of Jefferson College.
