This collection consists of student materials such as lecture notes, lecture tickets, and annual announcements. All of this material was culled from the Scheffey Papers, Manuscript 45.
Albert Whitely (1816-1893) was born in 1816. He was the son of Dr. William S. Whitely and Elizabeth Baynard Whitely. He enrolled at Jefferson Medical College at the age of nineteen after spending 22 months as an apprentice to his father, also a physician. Whitely graduated from Jefferson in 1839, having written a thesis entitled, “Intermittent Fever.”He practiced medicine in Kent County, Delaware and served as President of the Delaware State Medical Society in 1865. Albert Whitely died in 1893.
