This collection consists mainly of Davis's publications on cleft palate, harelip, and sinusitis. There are also some biographical materials and two addresses.
Warren B. Davis was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky on September 6, 1881. He attended Kentucky University (now Transylvania University) from 1898-1905 before coming to Jefferson Medical College from 1906-1910 to earn his medical degree. After doing post-graduate study at the University of Berlin under Dr. Ludwig Pick, Davis returned to Philadelphia and started his private practice in 1913. Beginning in 1913 he also started teaching at Jefferson Medical College, first as an instructor in anatomy and later as an instructor in surgery and clinical professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery. During that time Davis became internationally known for harelip and cleft-palate surgery. He died on July 7, 1947.
